Establishing A Named Scholarship

PCMf welcomes companies and individuals interested in establishing scholarships to honor individuals or represent companies within the guidelines of PCMf.

The PCMf Board of Trustees will review and approve or reject applications based on PCMf guidelines.

The following information must be provided to establish a named scholarship with PCMf:

- Provide the name for the scholarship including a biography and picture of the honored.
- Define eligibility criteria for the scholarship within PCMf guidelines.
- Define Scholarship Funding Length and Source.
- Develop PCMf application specifically for the scholarship.
- Define the selection criteria and process.
- Consider academic calendar, financial aid process, tuition due dates, etc.
- Develop an awarding process.
- Plan for program evaluation.

Provide the name for the scholarship, if honoring a person, include a biography and picture of the honored with this form. As a scholarship donor, you choose the name of the scholarship as well as the criteria.
Are you establishing an:
Endowed Scholarship 
- Endowed scholarship funds are designed to be permanent and perpetual and can be created with gifts totaling a minimum amount of $20,000, contributed in full at the outset or with an initial commitment that is added to over time until the endowment level is attained. The principal of the fund is invested to produce income, and an annual award is made to a student(s). The principal remains untouched, so the endowment can last into perpetuity.
Annual Scholarship 
- Annual scholarships can be established with a minimum outright gift of $2,000. A minimum annual commitment of $1,000 per year for two to four years (depending on scholarship criteria) is recommended, and the annual gift is awarded to recipients over the two to four-year period. Unlike an endowed scholarship described above, an annual scholarship is not a permanent fund and is awarded only if you (or others) choose to contribute to the scholarship fund.

Assistance from the PCMf Board of Directors is available to help you create the criteria for your scholarship. Endowed and annual scholarships through PCMf are awarded to deserving students desiring a career in a construction related industry based on area of interest, geographical origin, leadership potential, merit, financial need, academic achievement and/or other criteria. PCMf must agree to any special award conditions established by the donor.
Selection Criteria
Define selection criteria for the scholarship within PCMf guidelines.
A selection committee carefully reviews the scholarship applications submitted by students and selects the most deserving recipient(s) based on the donor-established criteria. Major contributors to a scholarship fund are notified annually when the scholarship recipient(s) has been selected and are informed of the name and hometown of the recipient, as well as the amount of the award. Recipients often write a thank-you note to the donor, and in some cases, the recipient and donor can meet.
Awarding Process
PCMf provides awards directly to successful candidates as needed to meet the schedule of the education providers’ terms. Please consider academic calendar, financial aid process, tuition due dates, etc. in your response.
