Port of Beaumont Main Street Terminal 1 – Phase B - Locke Solutions

BestinPrecast TROPHY 2024

Project Overview:

The Port of Beaumont Main Street Terminal 1 – Phase B underwent a major infrastructure upgrade, reinforcing its long-term operational efficiency and sustainability. This critical refurbishment included specialized precast concrete panels, designed to serve as a foundational dock base that enhances structural integrity and performance in a high-load marine environment.

This project demanded precision engineering, requiring advanced precast solutions to ensure a seamless fit, long-lasting durability, and accelerated construction timelines.

Innovative Precast Solutions:

Locke Solutions played a key role in engineering and manufacturing custom precast components to meet stringent marine construction specifications.

  • Specialized form designs with haunches & keyways for enhanced stability & load transfer
  • Amplitude finish achieved with advanced liners to ensure a precise surface texture
  • Custom-engineered rebar embedded in 914 precast panels for superior reinforcement

One of the project’s most sustainable innovations was the Carbon Locked™ Concrete Mix, incorporating CarbonCure’s technology to embed 100 tons of CO₂ into the precast elements—reducing the project’s carbon footprint while maintaining high-performance durability.

Efficiency & Sustainability in Marine Infrastructure:

By utilizing precast concrete, the dock reconstruction timeline was significantly accelerated, with completion achieved in just 4–6 months—a notable reduction compared to traditional cast-in-place methods.

This project highlights the efficiency, sustainability, and resilience of precast concrete in marine construction, ensuring that the Port of Beaumont remains a high-capacity, forward-thinking logistics hub.
