Best Stadium Project
Project Overview:
The Texas Tech University Jones AT&T Stadium and Womble Football Center in Lubbock, Texas, underwent a major $200 million renovation, marking the largest investment in Red Raider football history. Spanning five acres, the project includes a new four-story South End Zone addition, enclosing the stadium and connecting via sky bridge to the sports performance center and new Womble Football Center, which replaces the previous training facility.
Four-story end zone expansion:
- Locker rooms, coaching offices, and premium field-level club space
- Food service areas, suites, and stadium seating enhancements
- Sky bridge connection to training and performance centers
This massive stadium upgrade enhances both game-day experiences and athlete development, solidifying Texas Tech’s commitment to football excellence.
Innovative Precast Solutions:
Given the tight timeline to complete renovations before the 2023 season kickoff, precast concrete was the ideal solution for ensuring both speed and durability.
- 175 precast components installed in less than 3 weeks
- Precast rakers & slabs for lower-level stadium seating
- Wall panels, flat slabs, and seating risers for rapid construction
- Durable, high-performance materials ensuring long-term reliability
The ability to quickly erect the precast elements was critical to meeting an unbreakable deadline, ensuring the Red Raiders could open the season in their newly upgraded stadium.
A Winning Combination of Strength, Speed, and Style:
Thanks to the precast concrete’s efficiency, the stadium renovation was completed on time, allowing players, coaches, and fans to experience game day like never before. This project stands as a prime example of how precast solutions deliver superior stadium construction, ensuring speed, durability, and an enhanced fan experience.
