Best Use - Parking Structure
The original Charles Schwab Garage design called for perimeter L-beams with a vehicular barrier cable system.
However, in order to help to avoid light pollution into the surrounding nature preserve, the Charles Schwab garage design team demonstrated flexibility and thoughtful consideration in determining a better option was full-height precast spandrels. The new portion of the garage consists of just over 1050 pieces of precast and 332,800 sq. ft. of elevated deck area.
DPR Construction, one of the nation’s leading technical builders focused on highly complex and sustainable projects, today announced that it has been selected by Charles Schwab to build the company’s new corporate campus, located on a 50-acre site in Austin, Texas.
The new Charles Schwab Austin Campus will be built in two phases. The first phase consists of renovating the existing six-story 191,000-square-foot office building. Phase two of the project will involve an expansion to the existing garage by adding 1,140 parking stalls, building a new six-story 194,000-square-foot office building and a new three-story 80,000-square-foot amenity building including a full service cafeteria, meeting space, auditorium and training labs.
